With David Rockefeller on trumpet and Wouter Schueler on bari we player the complete “Live it out” tour in 2008……
After releasing the album “the Apple Field” we played a souled out clubtour around the pop-venues in Holland….. having fun !
With Tom Beek, Rik Mol and Evert Josemanders I played the horns on the Ben Saunders Record “Heart and Soul” recorded at the Marmalade studio in Delft.
Jan Smit plays with the Marcel Fisser band with Joe Rivera on trumpet, Jan Koper on saxophone and Bert Boeren trombone. Sometimes they ask me to sit in… so I played a couple of concerts in Hasselt, Ahoy and Dutch Valley…. great band and a great performer !
In december 2014 Cees Trappenburg, Tini Thomsen and I played a Radio performance with Brownie Dutch. Brownie is in the middle of recording a new soulful album and asked me to write and record horns for a song called “You”. Hopefully the record will be released soon….
Since the year 2000 I play with the band Sonny’s Inc. together with my good friend David Rockefeller. We play all kinds of private or corporate party’s and by occasion we accompany artist like René Froger, Lange Frans, Xander de Buisonjé, Berget Lewis or Edsilia Rombley. It’s always a blast to play with te band…. We love to entertain you !
My good friend Michiel van Zundert is a phenomenal drummer and producer. He writes crazy arrangements and produces deep funky grooves. So when he asked me to play on his new record (with René Dissel on bass and Berthil Busstra on keys) I was very exited. I recorded all horns at my studio. Interested ? In 2008 I toured with de band SoulSister in Belgium with the Heavy Horns. I will never forget the concerts at the Sportpaleis in Antwerp….wow !
In 1991 I started a Rhythm and Blues band together with one of my best friends Reinier Zervaas. For 20 years we really had the best time of our lives being on the road with these guys. The horn section consisted of 5 horns what really made it a powerful section. We recorded two albums and played all over Europe. Too bad the band doesn’t exist anymore !
I played with te Swinging Soul Machine from 1999 till 2012 . We also accompanied international artists like the Tramps, Eddy Floyd, the Supremes, C.B Milton and the Three Degrees. I had a lot of fun playing the baritone in the 4-piece horn section with Hans Meijdam on tenor, my brother Marco Muusz and Edwin Theuerzeit on trumpet …..
I arranged and wrote some of the horn parts in 2013 for the new album Love (released in 2016) of George McCrae. The Jay Horns recorded the horns at their own studio… they sound amazing !
98% of my gigs are with a full band, but once in a while I play with a DJ….. one of my favorites is DJ Rose !
I’ve been working with Erica Greenfield for many years. We played numerous concerts with the Wentink Barcelona Dinner Show and Top2000live band and but also recorded some of her own songs.
Simone Roerade and Bart Wijtman have been good friend for a very long time, so when they asked me to play on their mrs. Hip’s record “Give me more” the answer was “yes please !”. We recorded in their own studio in Rotterdam with Fred van Straten (trumpet) and Kees Adolfsen (trombone). That year we also played a great summer-festival tour to promote the album.
